Our Mission
The mission of St. John Paul II High School is to act as an extension of the Church by helping families lead their children towards a personal relationship with Jesus Christ through integrated intellectual and spiritual formation in the context of a classical education so that they might choose to become Saints.
We will undergo this work through rigorous academic pursuits, frequent participation in the sacraments - especially the sacrifice of the Mass - and the development of virtue. Additionally, it is our priority to make our tuition as affordable as possible and to offer financial support to those who need it, so that Catholic high school can be a real option for families.
Our school motto, Ferociter bis amate, is an imperative call to “love twice as fiercely,” which is exactly what we challenge our students to do
Our Catholicity
Chesterton Academy of St. John Paul II operates as an independent, non-profit organization cooperating with the Archdiocese of Denver. The school opens with the blessing of Archbishop Samuel J. Aquila and is officially recognized as an independent Catholic school. The Archdiocese offers its support in helping to establish and promote the new school, oversees its Catholic mission and theology curriculum, and has representation on the school’s governing board.
Founding
After years of prayer and work, the Chesterton Academy of St. John Paul II, the first and only Catholic high school in Northern Colorado, opened its doors in Windsor, CO on August 17, 2020! In our first year of operation, we had 25 students in grades 9 and 10. We plan to expand a grade level each year until we have a full high school, grades 9 through 12.
In our second year, the 2021-2022 school year, we expanded to have grades 9 through 11 and have doubled our teaching faculty so that we can continue offering a premier Catholic and Classical education.
We are deeply thankful to our gracious hosts at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church, who house us as we begin to build our campus.
